Building a FUNdamentally Excellent Future!

Financial Literacy

The ability to effectively manage and make informed decisions about personal finances is something children and teens should know prior to the stage of young adulthood, where it will then have to be applied in their daily lives.

Character Development

How we perceive someone is often closely linked to their distinctive mental and moral qualities. A person's character can influence several things like their ability to make friends, or affect their chances of securing certain opportunities in life, like employment.

Why
BEA ?

“Imagine playing a game your entire life without ever learning the rules,” said Delyanne Barros, a financial mentor. “How can you expect to succeed? How can you expect other players to not take advantage of your ignorance?”

Dollar Bills

Americans lost an average of $1,506 in 2023 due to financial illiteracy, according to the Financial Educators Council. This includes losing money due to:

More than 40% of Americans are unfamiliar with money market accounts, Roth IRAs and high-yield savings accounts.

Only 57% of adults in the United States are financially literate. Yet, 100% of adults will have to participate in at least one of the following financial decisions:

  • Saving for a large purchase

  • Funding a college education

  • Preparing for retirement

  • Buying a house

  • Paying off debt

  • Investing for your future

Financial illiteracy costs the U.S. economy billions of dollars every year due to unpaid debts, or the inability to spend money earned. The 3 most significant consequences for a lack of financial literacy are:

  • Debt

  • Making poor financial decisions

    • spending more than you can afford

    • uneducated investments in risky financial products

    • lack of perspective on saving for the future

  • Bankruptcy
